Located at 77 Portland St., a fan-favorite vegetarian restaurant named Shook thrives with a menu inspired by Middle Eastern culture.
What is Shook?
Shook is a vegetarian Middle Eastern restaurant. During the summer of 2019, the restaurant suffered from a fire, made worse by the emergence of the pandemic in 2020. Fortunately, it made its comeback in the recent winter, and they have been better than ever. Shook is not just a restaurant but also a café, a bottle shop, and a retail market.
What is on the menu?
As a café, Shook offers a wide variety of coffee, tea, and baked goods. If you prefer a green start, there’s a list of healthy smoothies you can try. The bottle shop is also filled with numerous wine options. Want a full meal? The restaurant offers home-produced pita and dips, flavorful spreads, crunchy falafel, mushroom kibbeh, and kreplach dumplings.
Why is Shook worth the trip?
Not only can your visit make your stomach full, but you also buy beautiful items in Shook. There are handmade bowls, ceramic tableware, assorted spices, honey, and dried bouquets.
